Last Sunday, a small group of trainees took over the little village of Vianden…
There were probably more visitors than residents that afternoon!
Our Trips SC took the lead and after taking busses, trains, and more busses, including an unexpected short coffee stop in Ettelbruck, we arrived safe and sound by the river Our, in Vianden. And there, at a 310 metres height, we saw the beautiful Château de Vianden…
We set of for a brisk walk, to visit the castle. We admired wonderful views and overlooked the city and its surroundings. Once back down, we discovered the Ancien Cinéma, a retro café run by Polish owners, where cartoons were playing on a large screen, and seatings were actual old cinema seats.
After some yummy pizza’s, cheese cakes, carrot cakes, apple pies, and brownies, some of us went of for another walk, this time on the ancient walls that used to fortify the city. We admired yet other views, the one more astonishing than the other, but one of the most memorable things of the day was probably… the playground 😉
Many thanks to our Trips SC –Joanna, Ilaria and Regina — for this initiative and for offering us a nice but tiring Sunday, I’m sure we all slept like babies that night, and dreamt Medieval dreams!
See you on the next trip!
